DoBSSE Donates to St. Philip Quaque Boys' & St. Cyprian Anglican Basic Schools

The Department of Business and Social Sciences Education (DoBSSE) has donated a collection of books to the St. Philip Quaque Boys' Anglican Basic School and St. Cyprian Anglican Basic School in Cape Coast. 

The donation forms part of the "School Adoption" programme instituted by the College of Education Studies.

Speaking during the presentation, the Head of Department, Dr. Anthony Akwesi Owusu said the donation, which was made possible through the department's collaboration with the UCC Basic School, aims to enhance the educational experiences of students at the school.

Dr. Owusu said the department would continue to support the school in various ways to enhance teaching and learning.

Receiving the donation, the Assistant Headteacher of the school, Mrs. Deborah Lawertey, who stood in for the headteacher, thanked the department for the gesture and assured the team that the books would be put to good use.

The headteacher  of St. Cyprian Anglican Basic School, Mrs. Nora Nyarko, who received the donation on behalf of her school expressed gratitude to the DoBSSE for the kind gesture. She assured that the donated items would be put to good use, benefiting the students and teachers alike.

Coordinator at the Cape Coast Metropolitan Education Office, Mr. Ewusie Hackman,  who oversees the "School Adoption" programme, also commended the DoBSSE for its intended plans to organise training workshops for teachers.

He noted that the workshops would have a positive impact on the quality of education delivery at the school.
