I will Support you to Succeed- Oguaamanhen Assures Vice-Chancellor and Registrar

The Oguamanhen, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, has assured that he will support the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong and Registrar, Mr. Jeff Teye Emmanuel Onyame, to succeed during their tenure as leaders of the University of Cape Coast.

The Oguamanhen said the Oguaa Traditional Council was solidly behind them so they should not hesitate to call on them whenever their assistance was needed.

Osabarima Kwesi Atta II gave the assurance when the Vice-Chancellor and Registrar paid a courtesy to him and his traditional council at the Emintsimadze Palace in Cape Coast. Receiving them, he expressed excitement that the two leaders of the University had a great relationship with him.

Success of UCC

“Even when I didn’t know the two of you, I was honouring invitation from the University to attend programmes, and now that you are at the helm of affairs, you will always see me around even when there are no official functions”. He said the success of the University was very dear to him and the people of Cape Coast adding “UCC is already the University of Competitive Choice and we will ensure that the University remains at the top forever”.

Purpose

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor said the visit was to formally introduce themselves and also thank Osabarima for his support and presence at their investiture despite his numerous traditional and official duties. He noted that the visit was the first of several interactions to be held between them and the Oguaa Traditional Council. “We shall continue to call on you to seek counsel so that members of the University community can coexist with the people of Cape Coast in peace,” he pledged.

Appreciation

Prof. Boampong expressed the University’s appreciation to Osabarima Kwesi Atta II for his commitment to the development of the University. “You have at all times honoured our invitation to programmes and your love for UCC is extraordinary,” he noted. The Vice-Chancellor and Registrar were accompanied by the Acting Director of Public Affairs, Major Kofi Baah-Bentum (Rtd) and Secretary to the Vice-Chancellor, Ms. Elizabeth Yankah.
