Pro Vice-Chancellor Holds Virtual Engagement with Students

The Pro Vice-Chancellor’s Office has held the maiden edition of an interactive forum with students dubbed “Time with the Pro Vice-Chancellor”.

Held virtually, the event provided a platform for open dialogue between students and University leadership, focusing on issues impacting student life and academics.

The maiden session aimed to strengthen communication and collaboration between the University's leadership and the student body. Discussions during the event centred on academics, financial challenges, and other pressing student concerns.

In his remarks, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Denis Worlanyo Aheto, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to enhancing student experience at UCC.

“Your voices matter,” he told the students, assuring them that University management was ready to listen to their concerns and address them.

Prof. Aheto explained that the forum would not be a one-time engagement, promising more sessions in the future to sustain the dialogue.

Some key officers of the University responded to questions posed by the students who joined the discussions online.

Present at the meeting were the Registrar, Enoch Abbeyquaye (Esq); Dean of Students, Prof. Daniel Apaak; Acting Director of Academic Affairs, Dr. Atta Yeboah Sarpong; Chairman of the Institutional Review Board, Prof. Fiifi Amoako Johnson; Representative of the Directorate of Health Services, Mr. Thomas Tamag.

Student leaders were also in attendance, with SRC President Abraham Norman Nortey participating in person and the President of the Graduate Students’ Association joining virtually.
