Pro Vice-Chancellor Receives General Manager of Japan Motors Trading Company

The Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Prof. Rosemond Boohene, has received the General Manager of Japan Motors Trading Company, JMTC, Mr. Amine Kabara, to the University during a courtesy visit.

The visit was to invite the management of the University of Cape Coast to the Company’s brand-new state-of-the-art Nissan Assembly Plant at Tema.

Mr. Kabara noted that the $ 9 million Assembly Plant, commissioned by President Akufo-Addo in March 2022, was producing new Nissan Navara vehicles.

He described the long-standing relationship between the University and the Company as apt, saying the Company was always ready to provide high-powered vehicles to the University.

For her part, Prof. Rosemond Boohene said UCC had been patronizing the vehicles of JMTC and asked the Company to put up a Vehicle Service Centre at the campus of the University.

She told the delegation about the newly-established School of Sustainable Engineering and stated that the School would be glad to collaborate with the Company to facilitate technology transfer and promote hands-on practical skills acquisition opportunities for students and faculty.

Prof. Boohene enlisted the support of Japan Motors Trading Company towards the Vice-Chancellor’s vision to establish a Biomedical Research Centre.

Present at the meeting were Stephen Kofi Nti, the Takoradi Branch Manager of JMTC; Mr. Akwetey Ahingwah, the Takoradi Deputy Branch Manager of JMTC and Mr. Francis Ntow, the Sales Consultant of JMTC.
