The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Cape Coast has launched the prestigious ‘Woman of Choice’ beauty pageant, Season III.

The pageant, which goes beyond glamour, creates a viable platform that highlights talent, confidence, and leadership among students, laying emphasis on interviews, cultural performances, and personal development.

At the launch, 16 stunning and talented contestants from the various halls of residence were unveiled.

The finalists, one visually impaired, were carefully selected following auditions in April 2026, where they showcased their beauty, intelligence, and passion for service.

They offered a glimpse of what to expect this season, captivating the audience at the launch with their exceptional performances.

In her address, the SRC Vice-President, Deborah Gyamfuah, expressed her enthusiasm for the platform, stating, "...it is a remarkable opportunity to nurture our colleagues who are passionate about the Woman of Choice programme. Previous participants can attest that they have emerged as better versions of themselves after the event, thanks to grooming sessions such as public speaking. Expect nothing but the best from us."

The Chairperson of the event, the Chief of Kwaprow, Nana Kwesi Mensah III, commended the SRC for the initiative.

He challenged the contestants to engage in a healthy competition.

As a gesture of goodwill, Nana Kwesi Mensah III donated 10,000 Cedis to support the programme, while he gave the contestants 4,000 Cedis.
