CIUCC Wins Big at the 2026 Chinese Bridge Competition

The Confucius Institute at the University of Cape Coast (CIUCC) emerged as the overall winner of the 2026 Chinese Bridge Competition.

The competition which was held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi brought together contestants from various institutions across Ghana to showcase their proficiency in the Chinese language, cultural understanding, and public speaking abilities.

The CIUCC contestants put up remarkable performances across the university, secondary school, and primary school categories, earning several top awards and distinctions at the prestigious competition.

 In the university category, Miss Bertha Asiedua Boadu emerged as the overall winner,  and also won the Best Written Test Award for her exceptional proficiency in the Chinese language. Prince Paa Kofi Nkrumah Arthur also performed excellently, earning Second Place, while Atubra Meek secured Third Place.

CIUCC further excelled in the secondary school category, where Yvette Brown Ansah was crowned Champion. She additionally received the Best Written Test Award in recognition of her outstanding written performance and deep understanding of the language.

In the primary school category, Prince Amissah won the championship title after an impressive display of language skills and cultural knowledge. Sky Kukua Vadi also distinguished herself by winning Third Place and receiving the Best Speech Award for her eloquence and confidence during the competition.
