GCB Bank PLC and UCC Discuss Ways to Strengthen Cooperation

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Prof Denis Aheto, has met with the Managing Director of GCB Bank PLC, Mr. Farihan Alhassan, who is on a working visit to the University.

During the meeting, the two sides explored ways to enhance ties for their mutual benefit, with a focus on expanding cooperation in priority areas including student accommodation, infrastructure projects, and renewable energy investments.

Mr. Farihan Alhassan expressed his appreciation to UCC for its long-standing partnership with GCB Bank.

He acknowledged the strong banking relationship between the two institutions and emphasized the need to further deepen this bond.

"We have enjoyed meaningful collaboration over the years, and we are here to explore additional areas of partnership while reinforcing our existing relationship. UCC has been a dependable partner. GCB would like to do something monumental under the leadership of Prof. Denis Aheto," he said.

For his part, Prof. Aheto commended Mr. Alhassan and GCB Bank for their continued support and assured that the University would continue to do business with them.

Prof. Aheto further expressed enthusiasm for the bank’s renewable energy ambitions for UCC and said the University was ready to partner with the bank in that direction.

Present at the meeting were the Registrar, Mr. Gideon Enoch Abbeyquaye; the Acting Director of Finance, Mr. George Amfo-Antiri; the Acting Director of Public Affairs, Dr. Kwabena Antwi-Konadu, as well as senior management members of GCB Bank PLC.
