An alumnus of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Mr. Ernest Agorde, has been named among the 2026 IU Indianapolis Elite 50.
Mr. Agorde further earned a distinction as a member of The Premiere 10 - the highest recognition within the award category.
The Award recipient, who is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Communication at Indiana University (IU) Indianapolis in the USA, was selected in recognition of his exceptional academic excellence, campus leadership, and community engagement.
The honour is jointly conferred each year by the Indiana University Graduate School, Indianapolis, the Office of Academic Affairs, and the Graduate and Professional Student Government.
The Elite 50 Award celebrates graduate and professional students who demonstrate outstanding all-round achievement, while The Premiere 10 represents the very highest echelon of scholars at IU Indianapolis. Selection into The Premiere 10 is reserved for students whose accomplishments significantly distinguish them among their peers, making Mr. Agorde one of the most outstanding graduate scholars at the institution.
Before embarking on his doctoral studies abroad, he served as a staff member at the Directorate of Public Affairs at the University of Cape Coast, where he contributed to the University’s academic mission and professional community.
His current achievements reflect not only his personal dedication and scholarly commitment, but also the strong academic foundation and professional values nurtured during his time at UCC.
Commenting indirectly through the announcement, IU Indianapolis commended award recipients for embodying the ideals of scholarship, leadership, and service—values strongly aligned with UCC’s own institutional vision of producing graduates and professionals capable of making meaningful contributions at both local and global levels.
