The Danish Ambassador to Ghana, H.E Jakob Linulf, has paid a courtesy call to the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Prof. Denis Aheto.
The Ambassador’s visit aims at strengthening the partnership between the Royal Danish Embassy in Ghana and the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
Speaking during the visit, H.E Jakob Linulf reaffirmed his country’s support and commitment to UCC in the areas of research, agriculture, renewable energy, peace and security, and climate action, among others.
The Danish Ambassador, who started his duty tour of Ghana in August 2025, praised UCC for its good reputation in Denmark and urged faculty members to take advantage of programmes rolled out by the Danish government, including the Danida Fellowship.
Ambassador Linulf expressed Denmark’s readiness to further enhance economic cooperation with Ghana in ways that aligned with both countries’ sustainable development goals.
He described Ghana as a strategic partner in West Africa and said universities in Denmark look forward to deepening academic ties with UCC through knowledge exchange.
Their discussions further highlighted Denmark’s support for Ghana’s green transition agenda and innovation-driven trade initiatives, underscoring the shared vision of both nations for resilient and sustainable economic growth.
He pledged his continuous advocacy for Ghana to further deepen the ties between the two countries.
During his engagement with the Danish Ambassador, Prof. Aheto said the visit created a window of opportunity for the University to work closely with the embassy.
He further indicated that the University would tap into the financial resources of Denmark through grants.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor indicated the University's readiness to pay a reciprocal visit to the Ambassador to enable faculty to see firsthand information about opportunities in Denmark that could benefit the University.
