UCC SRC Inaugurates Automated Water Stations

Three automated water stations have been inaugurated at the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

The facilities, fully funded by the SRC at 600,000.00 Ghana Cedis, function on a prepayment system, with customers loading a cash equivalent of the quantity of water they require.

It also affords consumers 24-hour access to the system.

The facilities are located at the Sandwich Lecture Theatre, Parliament House, and the New Lecture Theatre.

The Vice-Chancellor of UCC, Prof Denis Aheto, who inaugurated the water stations, said the inauguration of the facilities were a significant milestone for the student  body because of the inherent benefits, and urged students to take good care of them.

He commended the SRC for the initiative and called for periodic maintenance of the new facilities and entreated the students to take good care of them.

For his part, the SRC President, Mr Kwame Ntiamoah Ntim, expressed satisfaction that the project had eventually been completed.

He assured the students would take good care of the facilities so they would last long enough to serve current and future generations.
