The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Prof. Denis Worlanyo Aheto, has received a delegation from Zenith University College (ZUC) at the Council Chamber.

The delegation, led by the Registrar of ZUC, Alhaji Nasaru Abdul-Rahman, was in UCC to renew and deepen the long-standing partnership between the institutions and explore new areas of collaboration.

Congratulating Prof. Aheto and the Registrar of UCC, Gideon Enoch Abbeyquaye, Esq. on their recent appointments, Alhaji Abdul-Rahman expressed confidence that the existing relationship between the two institutions would continue to grow under their leadership.

He noted that UCC and ZUC had enjoyed a mutually beneficial partnership over the years.

“We continue to benefit significantly from the mentorship services UCC has been providing us since the relationship began,” he said.

Alhaji Abdul-Rahman explained that through the collaboration, ZUC served as a study centre for UCC’s distance students and had been hosting weekend sessions for learners enrolled in various programmes.

He further appealed to the management of UCC to consider introducing PhD programmes targeted at the working class, especially in the Greater Accra, Volta and Eastern Regions, where many professionals have expressed interest in pursuing advanced studies.

The ZUC Registrar also informed the Acting Vice-Chancellor that the College would soon undergo institutional re-accreditation, and, therefore, requested the continued support of UCC throughout the process.

Responding, Prof. Aheto commended ZUC for distinguishing itself as one of UCC’s most active and reliable affiliate institutions. He emphasised that the relationship between the two institutions aligns with the University’s broader commitment to strategic partnerships that advance higher education in Ghana.

“Our relationship with Zenith University College is a testament to a fruitful Public–Private Partnership that continues to create opportunities for teaching, learning and professional development,” he stated.

Prof. Aheto also praised the Founder of ZUC, Dr. Gibrine Adam, for his philanthropic contributions to education and for providing his institution as a study centre for UCC’s distance education programmes.

He assured the delegation that the University would provide the necessary support to facilitate ZUC’s re-accreditation process and would also consider the additional concerns raised during the meeting.
